Community Guidelines

Last updated: February 24, 2026

Spotbo is built on real connections between real people. These guidelines exist to keep our community welcoming, safe, and fun for everyone. They apply to all interactions on the platform, including meetups, posts, messages, and profiles.

Be Respectful

Treat every person on Spotbo the way you'd want to be treated. We have zero tolerance for harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or bullying of any kind. Disagree respectfully. Remember there's a real person on the other side of the screen — and you might run into them at a meetup tomorrow.

Be Real

Use your real name and a real photo. Spotbo is about meeting people face-to-face, so authenticity matters. Fake profiles, catfishing, and impersonation undermine trust and will result in immediate account removal.

Safety First

Your safety is our top priority. For your first few meetups with new people:

  • Always meet in public places
  • Share your plans with a friend or family member
  • Trust your instincts — if something feels off, leave and report it

Meetup hosts are responsible for choosing safe, accessible venues and ensuring their events comply with all local laws and regulations.

Content Rules

Keep content relevant and appropriate. Spotbo is for local meetups and genuine social connections. Don't use it to:

  • Sell products, promote businesses, or recruit for MLMs
  • Post spam, explicit, violent, or illegal content
  • Share other people's personal information without permission (photos, contact details, anything said in meetup group chats)

If your event has a legitimate cost (materials, venue, etc.), be upfront about it in the description. Transparency builds trust.

Meetup Etiquette

If you spot a meetup, do your best to actually go. Hosts put time and energy into planning, and other attendees are counting on you. If something comes up, unspot as early as possible so someone else can take your place. Consistent no-shows hurt the community and may affect your account standing.

As a host, write clear and honest descriptions. Set realistic expectations for your event, be inclusive, and welcome newcomers. Your role is to create a space where people feel comfortable connecting.

Reporting

If you see something that doesn't feel right, report it. Every report is reviewed by a real person on our team. You can report users, posts, messages, or meetups directly through the app. Reports are confidential — the reported user won't know who flagged them. False or malicious reporting is itself a violation of these guidelines.

Enforcement

We take violations seriously. Depending on the severity, consequences may include:

  • A warning
  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent ban from Spotbo

Severe violations — threats, illegal activity, or predatory behavior — will result in immediate removal and may be reported to law enforcement.

Our goal isn't to police the community — it's to protect it. The vast majority of people on Spotbo are awesome and just want to meet cool people. These guidelines are here to make sure it stays that way.
